Wenn die Erde erschüttert wird durch ihr heftiges Beben
When the earth is shaken in its ultimate quaking,
Cuando sea sacudida la tierra por su terremoto,
Lorsque la terre aura tremblé de son (plus violent) tremblement,
כאשר תזועזע האדמה ברעידתה,
Quando la terra sarà agitata nel terremoto 1 ,
Apabila bumi digegarkan dengan gegaran yang sedahsyat-dahsyatnya,
هنگامی که زمین با شدیدترین تکانهایش به لرزه درآید.
Quando a terra for tremida por seu tremor,
Когда земля содрогнется от сотрясений,
NÄR JORDEN skälver i sitt [sista] skalv
Kapag niyanig ang lupa sa pagyanig nito,
பூமி அதன் நிலநடுக்கத்தால் நடுங்க வைக்கப்படும் போது,
เมื่อแผ่นดินถูกให้ไหวอย่างสั่นสะท้านของมัน
Yer dehşetle sarsıldıkça sarsıldığı, yeryüzü ağırlıklarını dışarıya çıkardığı ve insanın: "Buna ne oluyor?" dediği zaman;
زېمىن قاتتىق تەۋرىتىلگەندە،
dan bumi telah mengeluarkan beban-beban berat (yang dikandung)nya,
dan bumi telah mengeluarkan beban-beban berat (yang dikandung)nya,
যখন সে তার বোঝা বের করে দেবে।
und die Erde hervorbringt ihre Lasten
Die in de ochtendschemering aanvallen.
and when the earth throws out all its contents,1
expulse la tierra su carga
et qu’elle aura rejeté tous ses fardeaux,
ותוציא האדמה את מטמוניה הכבדים.
la terra rigetterà i suoi fardelli 1 ,
Serta bumi itu mengeluarkan segala isinya,
و زمین بارهای سنگینش را بیرون ریزد.
E a terra fizer sair seus pesos,
когда земля извергнет свою ношу,
och jorden kastar upp sina bördor
at nagpalabas ang lupa ng mga pabigat nito,
இன்னும் பூமி அதன் சுமைகளை எறிந்துவிடும் (போது),
และเมื่อแผ่นดินได้ระบายของหนักของมันออกมา
Yer dehşetle sarsıldıkça sarsıldığı, yeryüzü ağırlıklarını dışarıya çıkardığı ve insanın: "Buna ne oluyor?" dediği zaman;
زېمىن (قوينىدىكى) يۈكلىرىنى (يەنى مەدەنلەر، ئوتلار، ئۆلۈكلەرنى) چىقارغاندا،
dan manusia bertanya, “Apa yang terjadi pada bumi ini?”
dan manusia bertanya, “Mengapa bumi (jadi begini)?”,
এবং মানুষ বলবে, এর কি হল ?
und der Mensch sagt: Was ist mit ihr?,
Die daarbij stof opwerpen.
and humanity cries, “What is wrong with it?”—
y el hombre se pregunte: «¿Qué es lo que le pasa?»,
et que l’homme aura demandé : « Qu’est-ce qu’elle a ? »
e dirà l’uomo: «Cosa le succede?».
「かれ(大地)に何事が起ったのか。」と人が言う時。
인간이 ‘저것(땅)이 어찌 된 일인가?’ 라고 말할 때
Dan berkatalah manusia (dengan perasaan gerun); “Apa yang sudah terjadi kepada bumi?”
و انسان میگوید: «آن [= زمین] را چه شده است؟»
E o ser humano disser: “O que há com ela?”
и человек спросит, что же с нею,
och människan ropar: “Vad har hänt med den?”
at nagsabi ang tao: “Ano ang mayroon dito?” –
இன்னும் மனிதன் இதற்கென்ன (நேர்ந்தது) எனக் கூறுவான்.
และมนุษย์จะกล่าวว่า เกิดอะไรขึ้นแก่มันเล่า
Yer dehşetle sarsıldıkça sarsıldığı, yeryüzü ağırlıklarını dışarıya çıkardığı ve insanın: "Buna ne oluyor?" dediği zaman;
ئىنسان ئۇنىڭغا (يەنى زېمىنغا): «نېمە بولدى؟» دېگەندە،
Pada hari itu bumi menyampaikan beritanya,
pada hari itu bumi menceritakan beritanya,
সেদিন সে তার বৃত্তান্ত বর্ণনা করবে,
an jenem Tag wird sie die Nachrichten über sich erzählen,
Die dan het midden van de gelederen (van de vijand) doorbreken.
on that Day the earth will recount everything,
ese día contará sus noticias,
Ce jour-là, elle dira son histoire,
ביום ההוא היא תגיד את החדשות שלה,
In quel Giorno racconterà le sue storie 1 ,
이날 저것(땅)은 제가 가진 소식을 이야기할 것이니
Pada hari itu bumipun menceritakan khabar beritanya:
در آن روز، [زمین] تمام خبرهایش را بازگو میکند؛
Nesse dia, ela contará suas notícias,
в тот день она расскажет свои известия,
Den Dagen skall [jorden] berätta vad den har bevittnat [av människornas handlingar];
sa Araw na iyon ay magsasaysay ito ng mga ulat nito
அந்நாளில் அது (-பூமி) தன் செய்திகளை அறிவிக்கும்.
ในวันนั้นมันจะบอกข่าวคราวของมัน
İşte o gün, yer, Rabbinin ona vahyetmesiyle kendi haberlerini anlatır.
بۇ كۈندە زېمىن ئۆزىنىڭ خەۋەرلىرىنى (يەنى ئۇنىڭ ئۈستىدە ئىشلەنگەن ياخشى ـ يامان ئىشلارنى) مەلۇم قىلىدۇ.
karena sesungguhnya Tuhanmu telah memerintahkan (yang sedemikian itu) padanya.
karena sesungguhnya Tuhan-mu telah memerintahkan (yang sedemikian itu) kepadanya.
কারণ, আপনার পালনকর্তা তাকে আদেশ করবেন।
weil dein Herr (es) ihr eingegeben hat.
Voorwaar, de mens is zijn Heer zeker ondankbaar.
having been inspired by your Lord to do so.
según lo que tu Señor le inspire.
d’après ce que ton Seigneur lui aura ordonné.
giacché il tuo Signore gliele avrà ispirate.
그(땅)의 주님께서 저에게 계시를 주셨기 때문이라.
Bahawa Tuhanmu telah memerintahnya (berlaku demikian).
زیرا که پروردگارت به او [چنین] وحی [و حکم] کرده است.
Conforme seu Senhor lho inspirou.
потому что Господь твой внушит ей это.
det gör den på din Herres ingivelse.
dahil ang Panginoon mo ay nagkasi rito.
அதாவது, உம் இறைவன் தனக்கு கட்டளையிட்டான் என்று.
ว่าแท้จริงพระเจ้าได้มีบัญชาแก่มัน
İşte o gün, yer, Rabbinin ona vahyetmesiyle kendi haberlerini anlatır.
(ئۇنىڭ مەلۇم قىلىشى) پەرۋەردىگارىنىڭ ئۇنى شۇنداق قىلىشقا ئەمر قىلغانلىقىدىندۇر.
Pada hari itu manusia keluar dari kuburnya dalam keadaan berkelompok-kelompok, untuk diperlihatkan kepada mereka (balasan) semua amal perbuatannya.
Pada hari itu manusia ke luar dari kuburnya dalam keadaan bermacam-macam, supaya diperlihatkan kepada mereka (balasan) pekerjaan mereka,
সেদিন মানুষ বিভিন্ন দলে প্রকাশ পাবে, যাতে তাদেরকে তাদের কৃতকর্ম দেখানো হয়।
在那日,人们将纷纷地离散,以便他们得见自己行为的报应。
An jenem Tag werden die Menschen (in Gruppen) getrennt herauskommen, damit ihnen ihre Werke gezeigt werden.
En voorwaar, hij is daar zeker getuige van.
On that Day people will proceed in separate groups1 to be shown the consequences of their deeds.
Ese día los hombres surgirán en grupos, para que se les muestren sus obras.
Ce jour-là, les hommes sortiront par groupes épars pour répondre de leurs œuvres.1
ביום ההוא ייפרדו בני האדם לקבוצות, כדי לראות את מעשיהם.
In quel Giorno gli uomini usciranno in gruppi 1 , affinché siano mostrate loro le loro opere 2 .
その日,人びとは分別された集団となって(地中から)進み出て,かれらの行ったことが示されるであろう。
이날 인간들은 제각각 앞으로 나아가 자신들의 행위를 볼 것이니
Pada hari itu manusia akan keluar berselerak (dari kubur masing-masing) – untuk diperlihatkan kepada mereka (balasan) amal-amal mereka.
در آن روز، مردم گروهگروه باز میگردند تا [نتیجۀ] اعمالشان به آنان نشان داده شود.
Nesse dia os humanos camparecerão, separadamente, para os fazerem ver suas obras.
В тот день люди выйдут толпами, чтобы им показали их деяния.
Den Dagen skall människorna stiga fram i spridda skaror för att se sina handlingar.
Sa Araw na iyon ay hahayo ang mga tao nang hiwa-hiwalay upang pakitaan sila ng mga gawa nila.
அந்நாளில் மக்கள் பல பிரிவுகளாகப் புறப்படுவார்கள். அவர்களின் செயல்களை அவர்கள் காண்பதற்காக.
ในวันนั้นมนุษย์จะกระจายออกมาเป็นหมู่ ๆ เพื่อพวกเขาจะถูกให้เห็นผลงานของพวกเขา
O gün insanlar işlerinin kendilerine gösterilmesi için bölük bölük dönerler.
بۇ كۈندە كىشىلەر قىلغان ئەمەللىرىنىڭ نەتىجىسىنى كۆرۈش ئۈچۈن توپ ـ توپ بولۇپ تارىلىپ كېتىدۇ.
Maka barangsiapa mengerjakan kebaikan seberat zarah, niscaya dia akan melihat (balasan)nya.
Barang siapa yang mengerjakan kebaikan seberat zarah pun, niscaya dia akan melihat (balasan)nya.
অতঃপর কেউ অণু পরিমাণ সৎকর্ম করলে তা দেখতে পাবে
Wer nun im Gewicht eines Stäubchens Gutes tut, wird es sehen.
En voorwaar, hij heeft zeker een hevige liefde voor bezit.
So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.
Quien haya hecho el peso de un átomo de bien, lo verá.
Celui qui aura fait ne fût-ce que le poids d’un atome en bien, le verra ;
הן, מי שיעשה חסד כמשקל גרגר, יחזהו.
Chi avrà fatto [anche solo] il peso di un atomo di bene lo vedrà,
티끌만큼의 무게라도 선행을 실천한 자는 그것을 보게 될 것이며
Maka sesiapa berbuat kebajikan seberat zarah, nescaya akan dilihatnya (dalam surat amalnya)!
آنگاه هر کس به اندازۀ ذرهای کار نیک انجام داده باشد، [پاداشِ] آن را میبیند؛
Então quem houver feito um peso de àtomo de bem o verá,
Тот, кто сделал добро весом в мельчайшую частицу, увидит его.
Och den som har gjort så litet som ett stoftkorns vikt av gott skall se det,
Kaya ang sinumang gumawa ng kasimbigat ng isang katiting na kabutihan ay makikita niya iyon,
ஆகவே, யார் ஓர் அணுவளவு நன்மை செய்வாரோ, (அங்கு) அதைப்பார்ப்பார்.
ดังนั้นผู้ใดกระทำความดีหนักเท่าละอองธุลี เขาก็จะเห็นมัน
Kim zerre kadar iyilik yapmışsa onu görür.
كىمكى زەررىچىلىك ياخشى ئىش قىلىدىكەن، ئۇنىڭ مۇكاپاتىنى كۆرىدۇ.
Dan barangsiapa mengerjakan kejahatan seberat zarah, niscaya dia akan melihat (balasan)nya.
Dan barang siapa yang mengerjakan kejahatan sebesar zarah pun, niscaya dia akan melihat (balasan)nya pula.
এবং কেউ অণু পরিমাণ অসৎকর্ম করলে তাও দেখতে পাবে।
Und wer im Gewicht eines Stäubchens Böses tut, wird es sehen.
Weet hij dan niet dat, wanneer naar buiten wordt gekeerd wat in de graven is.
And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.
Y quien haya hecho el peso de un átomo de mal, lo verá.
et celui qui aura fait ne fût-ce que le poids d’un atome en mal, le verra.
הן, מי שיעשה רשע כמשקל גרגר, יחזהו.
e chi avrà fatto [anche solo] il peso di un atomo di male lo vedrà 1 . 2 Il terremoto (quello generale e finale) uno dei segni dell’Ora. 3 Le spoglie degli uomini che sono sepolti in essa. 4 Come tutto il resto della creazione, anche la terra testimonierà delle azioni degli uomini. 5 «usciranno in gruppi»: dalle loro tombe. 6 «affinché siano mostrate…»: affinché gli uomini si possano rendere conto della reale portata delle loro azioni. Disse l’Inviato di Allah (pace e benedizioni su di lui): «In verità l’uomo dorme, è quando muore che si sveglia». 7 Il Profeta Muhammad (pace e benedizioni su di lui) disse che i due versetti che concludono questa sura sono i più terrificanti di tutto il Corano.
티끌만큼의 무게라도 악행을 저지른 자는 그것을 보게 될 것이라.
Dan sesiapa berbuat kejahatan seberat zarah, nescaya akan dilihatnya (dalam surat amalnya)!
و هر کس به اندازه ذرهای کار بد کرده باشد، [کیفرِ] آن را میبیند.
E quem houver feito um peso de átomo de mal o verá.
И тот, кто сделал зло весом в мельчайшую частицу, увидит его.
och den som har gjort så litet som ett stoftkorns vikt av ont skall se det.
at ang sinumang gumawa ng kasimbigat ng isang katiting na kasamaan ay makikita niya iyon.
யார் ஓர் அணுவளவு தீமை செய்வாரோ, (அங்கு) அதைப் பார்ப்பார்.
ส่วนผู้ใดกระทำความชั่วหนักเท่าละอองธุลี เขาก็จะเห็นมัน
Kim de zerre kadar kötülük yapmışsa onu görür.
كىمكى زەررىچىلىك يامان ئىش قىلىدىكەن، ئۇنىڭ جازاسىنى تارتىدۇ.
Name
It is derived from the word zilzal in the first verse.
Period of Revelation
Whether or not Surah Az-Zalzalah was revealed in Makkah or Madinah is disputed. Ibn Masud, Ata, Jabir, and Mjahid say that it is a Makki Surah and a statement of Ibn Abbas also supports this view. On the contrary, Qatadah and Muqatil say that it is Madani and another statement of Ibn Abbas also has been cited in support of this view. That it is a Madani Surah is reasoned from a tradition from Hadrat Abu Said Khudri, which Ibn Abi Hatim has related from him. He says: “When the verse ‘Fa-man ya mal mithqala dharratin khairan yarah, wa man ya mal mithqala dharratin sharran yarah’, was revealed, I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, shall I really see my deeds?’ The Holy Messenger replied in the affirmative. I submitted: ‘And every major sin?’ He replied ‘yes.’ I said: ‘And the minor sins too?’ He replied ‘yes.’ Thereupon I exclaimed that I would then be ruined. The Holy Prophet said: Rejoice, O Abu Sa’id, for each good act will be equal to ten good acts like it.” The basis of the argument for this Surah being Madani is that Hadrat Abu Sa’ld Khudri was an inhabitant of Madinah and reached maturity after the Battle of Uhud. Therefore, if this Surah was revealed in his presence, as is apparent from his statement, it must be a Madani Surah. However, the practice that the Companions and their immediate successors followed in respect of the occasion of the revelation of the verses and Surahs, has already been explained in the Introduction to Surah Ad-Dahr above. Therefore, a Companion’s saying that a verse was sent down on this or that particular occasion is no proof that it was sent down on that very occasion. It may well be that after coming of age, Hadrat Abu Sa’id heard this Surah for the first time from the Holy Prophet, terrified by its last portion, might have asked the Holy Prophet the questions which we have cited above, and he might have narrated the incident saying that when this verse was revealed he put this and this question to the Holy Prophet. In the absence of this tradition every reader who reads the Quran with understandings will feel that it is a Makki Surah. In addition, from its theme and style one would feel that it must have been sent down in the earliest stage at Makkah when the fundamental principles and beliefs of Islam were being presented before the people in a concise but highly effective manner.
Theme and Subject Matter
The surah’s theme is the second life after death and presentation in it before man of the full record of the deeds done by him in the world. In the first three sentences it has been told briefly how the second life after death will take place and how confounding it will be for man. In the next two sentences it has been said that this very earth on which man has lived and performed all kinds of deeds thoughtlessly, and about which he never could imagine that this lifeless thing would at some point in the future bear witness to his deeds, will speak out on that Day by Allah’s command and will state in respect of each individual person, what act he had committed at a particular time and place. Then, it has been said that men on that Day, rising from their graves, will come out in their varied groups from all corners of the earth, to be shown their deeds and works, and their presentation of the deeds will be so complete and detailed that not an atom’s weight of any good or evil act will be left unnoticed or hidden from his eyes.
